Volume Maxer

Privacy policy

Effective date: October 11, 2026
Applies to Volume Maxer - Volume Booster 1.2.0 for Chrome, published by OPM.

Volume Maxer controls browser audio and video. It does not send browsing data, media, or settings to the developer, and it contains no analytics or advertising trackers.

INFORMATION USED ON YOUR DEVICE

The extension reads open-tab titles, addresses, tab identifiers, mute state and embedded-frame information to display media tabs and direct controls to the correct player. It reads audio/video playback state and relevant YouTube ad-player and Skip-control state. Audio may pass through a local Web Audio gain node to change volume. Audio is not recorded, transcribed or uploaded.

The extension does not access passwords, authentication cookies, payment details, form fields, private messages or unrelated page text for its functionality. It does not maintain a browsing-history log or track general browsing activity for analytics.

WHAT IS STORED

Browser local storage retains preferred volume levels indexed by website origin (scheme, hostname and port) and the Auto-skip YouTube ads preference. Full page paths and tab titles are not saved as preferences. Browser session storage holds per-tab volume overrides and private-window site preferences. The extension does not use Chrome's storage.sync API.

If you allow the extension in Incognito, private-site volume preferences are kept in session storage and cleared when the last tracked private tab closes or the browser session ends. The auto-skip switch is a browser-profile setting. Temporary playback and ad state is discarded as pages, popups and browser sessions close.

HOW INFORMATION IS USED

Information is used only to provide volume adjustment, remembered site volumes, media-tab display, play/pause, mute, and the optional YouTube ad controls described in the store listing. Automatic ad handling is off by default and can be changed in the popup.

SHARING AND NETWORK ACTIVITY

The extension does not transmit this information to the developer or to third-party services. It does not sell user data, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions. Websites you visit continue to make their own network requests under their own privacy policies. Installing Volume Maxer does not change those websites' data practices.

YOUR CONTROLS AND RETENTION

Use Reset in the popup to return the current site's volume to 100% and remove its saved volume preference. Turn off Auto-skip YouTube ads at any time. Session settings expire with the browser session; other preferences remain until changed, cleared, or the extension is removed. Removing the extension through Chrome removes its extension-managed local settings. You can restrict website access or Incognito access using Chrome's extension settings; restrictions may prevent some controls from working.

SUPPORT

If you choose to email vmadmsup@gmail.com, the developer receives the information you voluntarily include and uses it to respond to your request. That correspondence is separate from extension data handling. Avoid sending sensitive browsing information in a support request. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the same address.

LIMITED USE

Volume Maxer's use of information obtained through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only for the extension's disclosed media-control features.

CHANGES

This policy will be updated if the extension's data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current policy.
